I'm in love with a loafer

Hello lovies,

I hope y'all had a fun Saturday, I certainly had an interesting one. I went to Austin last night to baby sit and on the way my car broke down, so my best friend and her aunt (who I was babysitting for) had to come pick me up from a random Target. I was so upset I couldn't even enjoy the fact that I got to go to Target, sad I know. So needless to say I spent my Saturday in limbo trying to figure out when my car would be ready and how I was going to get to it. Luckily it is all fixed now and I am back at home safe and sound!

So now let's talk about the important things, loafers! I first saw these when SarahBelle93x included them in one of her videos and I fell in love. She said they were from Kohl's and were on sale, so I checked it out and I found them online for about $20. Which wasn't bad, because the original price was about $54. But I just wasn't sure I loved them enough to pay for shipping and have to get them shipped to the apartment and worry about the office losing them. So I decided to wait and think about it for a few days. Then I spotted a Kohl's on my way home today, and naturally I stopped to see if they had them in my size. Let me tell you they did, and they had them for $11.90! So I saved $44 on these little cuties! Talk about a steal!

I know not everyone will like these, but I think they are super cute and fun. If you do like them and want a pair I suggest you head on out to your local Kohl's and snag a pair before they're all gone!

Friday Fave/ Not Fave

 TGIF, right?!

So this Friday my FAVE: is Courtney Kerr and her new show "Courtney Loves Dallas". I have been obsessed with her ever since I started following her blog this summer. Her style is absolutely to die for, she's Texan, and she has big hair. Duh, I love her. I knew I would love her show, but the premiere was even better than I thought because when I saw the show I realized that she's a thirty year old me. But aside from her show I really really admire her blog and how she runs it and how successful it is, it's what I want my blog to become someday. Soooo I think y'all should all check out her blog What Courtney Wore and her show "Courtney Loves Dallas" Thursdays at 9! P.S. my other fave is the vintage birkin on HauteLook, I died.

My Not Fave: is finals, along with every other college student everywhere. They are just so stressful and I hate them. I would just much rather take another test over what we've been learning the past couple weeks than one that covers the whole semester. That is a lot of info to remember for just one class and then multiply it by 4! Not fun. But I am excited about the semester being over and having more free time to blog, what else?

Hope y'all have a fun and safe weekend! Stay warm! Thanks for reading.

Friday Fave/Not Fave

Hello lovies!

This week my FAVE is that this is my last weekend being a minor!! I turn 21 on Monday the 21st, and I am so excited for my golden birthday! I have plans to go to the DMV, so I can get a new license and then my mom and I are going to Austin to have lunch and do some Kendra Scott shopping. I'm excited because Kendra Scott offers 50% off one item during your birthday month, so make sure y'all remember that when your birthdays roll around! And then that evening I have plans to go with some friends to get margaritas, my first legal drink! And with all this birthday celebrating I will have lots of outfits to post about, so keep an eye out for those.

My NOT FAVE this week is a double murder suicide that happened in San Marcos this week. A young girl, her current boyfriend, and her ex boyfriend all lost their lives. The girl that died worked at Chipotle and she was my favorite worker there. She was always so nice and friendly, and was by far the best burrito roller I have ever come across. My friends and I would always get so excited when she was working and was the one to roll our burritos. It is just so hard for me to fathom that one day she was here and the next she's gone, and that I will never walk into Chipotle and see her face again. I am so sad for her family, friends, and everyone else that loved her burrito rolling. Her family will most definitely be in my prayers.

I hope y'all have a safe and fun filled weekend, thanks for reading!

Skin care routine

Happy Thursday, lovies!

So I have decided to do a skin care routine post, because I love to hear what other people's skin care routines are and what products they're using. I also think that I use some products that y'all probably haven't heard of before, but I think they work really well so I'm excited to share them!

First off, I am a huge believer in going natural and organic when it comes to your face. I once read that your skin absorbs 60% of what you put on it, so ever since then I have tried to avoid as many harsh chemicals as I possibly can when it comes to my skin care. I do use a couple of products that aren't natural, but I'll explain them when we get there. My skin care routine works really well for me and my skin, but everyones skin is different so this could be catastrophic to someone else's skin (duh).

At night: I wash my face at night, I don't wash my face in the morning and I only wash my face every other night. I know I might get a few gasps at this, but it has worked so well for me! I think that a lot of people probably wash their face too much and are stripping it which can cause your face to over produce oils, I believe that's what my skin does. I was so much more oily when I washed my face every night, granted, it did take my face about a week to get used to the switch but now that I don't wash it as frequently I'm not really oily anymore! Here's what I use:
Cleanser: I use a natural cleanser by Epicuran. The only reason I know about this brand and this cleanser is because my best friend used to sell it at a spa that she worked at and I could buy it through her for a discounted price. I love this stuff because it is so gentle and non drying, I feel like it does a really good job of cleaning my skin without stripping it or drying it out. It's also super concentrated and one bottle will literally last me about six months, I use one squirt every other night on my clarisonic brush. I bought my clarisonic about a year ago, and have been totally impressed with it. It is very pricey, but I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of it. I like it because I feel like it cleans my face really good, and I have noticed that my skin looks smoother and more even toned since I've been using it. I also feel like with long term use it's shrunken my pores a little, but my pores have always been on the smaller side.

Exfoliant: I am currently on the search for a new exfoliant, I used to use nutrogena's grapefruit cleanser exfoliant or whatever it's called. I just don't like how quickly I use it up. I want a more concentrated formula, so if you guys have any suggestions let me know!
Toner: I use Epicuran's protein mist enzyme toner, and I think it works really well. It's a spray so I spray it on after I shower and before I moisturize regardless of whether or not I used the clarisonic. I don't really have a lot to say about it other than I think it gets the job done and it's natural.

Moisturizer: I use Juice Beauty's oil-free moisturizer and Clinique's moisture surge intense skin fortifying hydrator, but I only use the Clinique when I use my clarisonic. I feel like my skin needs more moisture after using it, and my skin seems to soak up the thicker lotion without breaking out or being too oily which I think is a sign that it needs the extra moisture. However, the only reason I use this Clinique is because I got it in a gift with purchase, and didn't want to waste it because it is a more expensive product. I personally am not a fan of Clinique face products because they have a lot of harsh chemicals that I don't really want to put on my face. I am almost out of it and will look for a more natural heavy moisturizer to replace it. The Juice Beauty I use every night that I don't use my clarisonic, and I think it works so good! It's so concentrated, I have been using the same 2 oz bottle for about nine months now, and I'm just now almost out. I do have a very small face, so I only need one squirt where as most people would probably need two or three.

Mask: Masks are supposed to be really good for your skin and I think you're technically supposed to use them like three times a week, but I do not. I think that masks in general are over priced ESPECIALLY the organic/natural ones. So I don't really have any that I use, although I am always on the search for a good one, suggestions? I did get a sample of the Korres greek yogurt advanced nourishing sleeping facial and use it about once a week. I think it works really good and I've been pleased with it. I don't know that I would repurchase it, because I think Korres is pretty pricey although I could be wrong!

Astringent: I use this about one or two times a week and I use Epicuran's clarifying exfoliating astringent. I do not use this on the nights I wash my face because the combination of the astringent and the clarisonic is just way too harsh for my skin. This is another product that I'm almost out of and need to find a new one. (my friend quitting her spa job has been really detrimental to my skin care!) I really like astringents, because I think they do a good job of taking off all the extra dirt and gunk that's on your face without actually washing my face. I think it takes off dead skin too, which is always a plus.

In the morning: My morning routine is super simple! Just toner and moisturizer and that's it. I only use the Juice Beauty one though, because it is lighter and doesn't make my face get oily through out the day.

Ok, so that was super long but I just really like talking about face products and how to use them! I'm a bit of a product junkie (what girl isn't). If y'all have any questions or suggestions let me know in a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

Friday FAVE/NOTFAVE

Hello lovies!

Sorry it's been so long! Going to school, working, cheer, AND blogging is a lot for this girl to keep up with. And yes I did say cheering, which will be another post in itself....stay tuned! For now I'm doing an all make up fave/not have, and I am really excited about my fave this week. It has become one of my "holy grail" make up products.

FAVE: My fave is Benefit's They're Real mascara. Y'all this stuff is the best! I could just go on and on about how good it works, it doesn't clump or smudge and the brush is just perfect. I really feel like the brush coats every lash while separating at the same time. For me a brush that separates is super important, I don't want my lashes to be close and clumped together (who does?). It is a tad pricey at $23 a tube, but mine has lasted a really long time and I feel like I've gotten my money's worth. I've people say that they feel like the tube should be bigger for they price, but I feel like I've gotten a lot of product out of that little tube. After I heard that I thought that I would probably run out soon, so I bought a second tube and I still haven't opened it yet. That was probably about two months ago that I bought that second tube!
{image via google}

NOT FAVE: The fact that I really want to find a liquid foundation for night time and going out, but I just don't even know where to begin. I don't know why liquid foundations make me feel so overwhelmed but they really do. I use bare minerals loose powder and always have, so liquids are pretty foreign to me. I can't even decide if I want to go drugstore or high end, or both! But then at the same time all the higher end ones that I would try are really out of my budget at the moment. I also can't decide which drugstore one would be any good! It all just makes my head spin, I should probably just get one and be done with it. Do y'all have a fave liquid foundation? I obviously need suggestions.

Friday Fave/Not Fave

  Happy Sunday!

As I am sure you are all aware Phillip Lim's 3.1 line for Target hit stores today, and I am loving the bags! I haven't really looked at the clothes that much, but I have studied the bags! I have been on a serious bag kick these past couple of months, I just can not get enough bags. I've been really liking super versatile satchels that I can wear as a cross body, clutch, or dress down and wear as my everyday purse. With that being said my FAVE: this week is Phillip Lim's mini satchel with in taupe. I am loving taupe for the fall, and this bag is just the most perfect little shape that I would be able to wear so many different ways. I have asked my mother for this bag as an early birthday present, and I can't wait to have it in my possession!! Hopefully the little old San Marcos Target won't sell out too quickly! (fingers crossed)
{image via google}

NOT FAVE: My millers that my sweet boyfriend got me for our anniversary don't fit! I got a 7, but I'm going to send them back for a 6 1/2. I think I could probably make the 7 work, but I know I would always wish I'd gotten a smaller size. It's going to be annoying having to wait for them again, but it'll be worth it to have them fit the way I want them to. Fit is everything, right?

I hope y'all had a fun and safe weekend! Thanks for reading, lovies!

Ootd: Interview

Hello lovies,

I hope y'all are had a wonderful Tuesday and a great start to your weeks! Today I wanted to share an outfit I wore for an interview a couple of days ago. I think that comfort is extremely important for an interview. You obviously want to look appropriate and professional, but if you're not comfortable and don't feel like yourself your interviewer will not get to see the real you! (Duh) So here is my take on a comfy yet appropriate interview outfit.
Dress: so old I don't remember where it's from, Shoes: Target (clearance), Jewlery: stella and dot, fossil, and my grandma's pearls (for good luck)

Side note: I have been after these shoes all summer, and I do mean all summer! So when I was at Target and saw that they were finally on clearance I knew that I had to get them, and there was only one pair in my size left! It was like a sign from God. But then I went the next day with my roommates, and they had been marked down even more to $10!! Can you believe that?! To console myself I decided that if I'd waited my size would have been gone and I wouldn't have these shoes that I'd been dying over all summer long...

Another late Friday Fave/Not Fave

A late TGIF!

These Friday Fave/Not Faves seem to be turning into a Sunday thing instead of a Friday thing! (oops) But this week I do have a really good excuse...my boyfriend, Jake, came up from Corpus Christi to visit me, so we could celebrate our four year anniversary. Our anniversary was August 29th, but this was the first weekend he was able to come visit. I seriously can not even believe it has been four years already! It seems like just yesterday that I met him for the first time in our high school hallway, but at the same time it feels like I've known him my entire life. Even though we have had our fair share of hard times and rough patches it has been the best four years of my life and I can't wait to see where we'll be in the next four years! (hopefully done with the long distance thing!)

Enough with the mushy stuff, my FAVE: is my anniversary present from Jake! He got me the nude Tory Burch Miller sandals. I seriously love these shoes, they are so cute and so classy and I am so excited to finally be the owner of a pair!
{image via google}

NOT FAVE: This week my not fave is the fact that I do not actually have my millers in my possession yet! First we went to the Tory Burch outlet here in San Marcos, and they were completely sold out of millers all together. You know, it's an outlet store, it happens, so we went to Nordstrom in Austin and they were sold out of any size I could fit into in nude and black! I had decided that I would get black if they had my size, but of course they didn't. So Jake had to order them for me through Nordstrom, which is a good thing because I will get them in a week and he didn't have to pay shipping. Apparently the Tory Burch website is sold out too, so who knows how long it would take if he'd ordered them from there. If any of y'all are in the market for some new millers good luck, because they are apparently very elusive!

I hope y'all had a great weekend, and have as happy of a Monday as possible!

Thanks for reading, lovies!

Currently loving: fall edition

Hello again lovies,

In honor of fashion week kicking off, I wanted to share with y'all some of my favorite looks and trends for the fall. So here they are:

Black and White:

I have been eyeing these Zara heels for a while now, and I think that they are perfect for fall. I'm thinking that we will be seeing a lot of black and white this fall.

Oxblood:
Is this not the most gorgeous color? I love anything and I mean anything in oxblood, and I think oxblood skinnies are my favorite. Last fall we saw the oxblood lip, but I'm predicting oxblood everything this fall!

Blazers:
Blazers are obviously very much a staple piece, but I feel like we're about to see them really making a statement and becoming the focus of the outfit. I love Kim's hot pink blazer, and it is definitely the focus of her outfit.

Bold lips:
Bold lips have been a trend for a while now, and I have loved them almost the entire time. I think for fall we are going to see a more muted/demure bold lip. I am excited for this because I didn't really like the super bright colored lips this spring.

So there you have it! Those are my predictions for the fall, and what I am most excited about seeing, purchasing, and wearing. What trends are you guys excited for this fall?

Thanks for reading

Christine

A big fat beauty DON'T

Hello lovies!

It's been a while, I know. It has just been so hard to find the time to blog with school starting back up and everything, but I'm finally getting a chance now! I wanted to share with y'all a little trick I tried that did not, I repeat, did not work!

The trick was to add water to your "it's a 10" bottle when you start running out to make that last little bit last as long as possible. At $25 a bottle you really want to make sure you're able to use it all! Granted I use such a small amount at a time that my bottle has lasted almost two years and has been worth every penny. I could go on and on about how good this serum is, but we'll save that for another blog!

So here's the issue, I have "it's a 10 miracle styling serum" which is what it says, a serum, and is very oily. I should have known from the beginning that adding water wouldn't work, but I was just way too gung-ho about trying to get every last drop of this stuff that I didn't think it through. So now I am left with this very odd oil and water mixture that squirts out mostly water every time I try to use it. I try to shake it up before I use it, but I still get mostly water because, duh, the water sinks. I think that maybe with a more cream based product this might actually work, but it most definitely does not work with the oil based products. I do have a sample of "healthy sexy hair soy renewal argan oil" that I'm excited to try out, and when I'm done I'll do a review and let you guys know if it's something I would actually purchase.

There you have it, my biggest beauty don't right now. I'm sure I'll have another one soon, hopefully it won't be anything so dumb! But hopefully I can save at least one person from ruining their styling serum.

Thanks for reading!

Christine

A little back to school haul

Hello again lovies,
It has a been a slightly crazy week so far and it's only Tuesday. It's been crazy because I started classes this Monday and had to buy books which, let me tell you, nearly sent me into cardiac arrest. I am a firm believer that college text books are some of the Devil's best work, I HATE buying them but am always way too scared to go without them.

But anyways...this post is not about textbooks, it is about my what I got when my wonderful mother took my sister and I back to school shopping! I did slightly fail though because I forgot to remember how much everything cost, so I'll do my best to guess for y'all. I feel like I got everything for really reasonable prices, except my wunder uners which were my splurge of the trip. And I did stop at H&M for the very first time and pretty much fell in love. A lot of their stuff was a little too "edgy" for me, and I felt like some of their jewelry was kind of cheap looking. Other than that I thought it was a really great store, and I will be returning! So with that being said here is my "haul"

H&M: $12.99 this is the most perfect slouchy, comfy shirt that I have already paired with my wunder unders, and it was the perfect combo.
LuLu Lemon:$72 (I think) I have heard so many good things about LuLu Lemon and the wunder unders, so I finally got myself a pair and have been happy so far. I think this material is a lot cooler than the other yoga pants I own, and in this Texas heat that is a HUGE plus!

H&M:$35 You can't tell in the pic, but this dress is actually royal blue. I just wore it this weekend for a friend's birthday and really liked it. I paired it with my yellow Kendra Scott earrings and it was such a great color combo. I'll be blogging about that outfit and her b-day later this week.

H&M:$12.99 I think the pic pretty much speaks for itself. This is such a great statement necklace I just couldn't pass it up, and I can't wait to style it. You guys will be seeing it a lot I'm sure.

H&M: I do not remember the price at all, but I know it wasn't too bad. I had to pick this up, because the polka dots are maroon! SO perfect for game day!!

Dick's:$80 I've already blogged about these here, so check out that post to see what I have to say about these pretties!

So there is my first haul! It was a semi small one, but it is just always so fun to go shop and then share all your great finds with your girlfriends. At least it is for me, so I hope y'all enjoyed it!

Christine

Friday Fave/Not Fave

Happy, happy Friday lovies, I hope you have all had a wonderful week. As you know I moved into my first apartment this past weekend. It went very smoothly, and I had the help of my sweet daddy (thank goodness). I have everything pretty much where it needs to go, I'm just waiting to add a few more touches. I still need curtains and throw pillows which I plan on making myself to hopefully save a few extra doll-hairs. Throw pillows are outrageously over priced!! When all of that is done I think I will be ready to blog about my apartment and let y'all see how I've decorated, I'm excited!

Can't wait to see him!

So my FAVE this week is that my sweet boyfriend, Jake, is coming up from Corpus Christi to visit me and see the apartment for the first time! He just recently moved back to Corpus for school and moved into a house with four of his friends, so I will have to make a trip very soon to go see his house (fun times). Another fave of mine this week is that Saturday is one of my very best friend's 21st birthdays, so Jake and I will be headed to College Station to celebrate which will be super fun. Then Sunday is one of my roommate's 20th birthday, so this weekend is just full of all kinds of celebrations and you will hear no complaints from me!

My NOT FAVE this week is not seeing my sister, she moved last weekend like I did. She moved to Stephenville to go to Tarleton State University, I'm so excited for her and her new adventure. However, I want her here! Luckily I am going up to Stephenville next weekend to go visit her and see her dorm and take her out with some of my friends. We're both really excited, and I think we will have lots of fun!

What are y'all up to this weekend?

Friday Fave/Not Fave

TGIF! Finally it's Friday and I get to move tomorrow, which means I will be spending this Friday doing lots and lots of packing. I hope y'all notice my brand new navigation bar at the top of the page. I don't have all the pages completely set up, but I'm working on it! I hope y'all have had a good week, and have a fun and safe weekend!

Fave: This week my fave are my new tennis shoes that I got for this semester! I always think to myself that I need to try and buy kids stuff whenever possible, because it's so much cheaper. I usually end up forgetting when I'm actually out shopping. However, this time I remembered! So I bought these kid's free runs for $80 instead of the women's which were $100, who doesn't  love to save $20?! And I think these are cuter than the women's anyway. Do y'all ever buy kids stuff to save some money?

NOT FAVE: My not fave this week is that I have to find a new job. My summer job has ended, so now I have to go out and find one in San Marcos so I can pay my rent each month. Being an adult kind of sucks. Can I just be a kid again?

As always, thanks for reading!

Christine

Coming Up...

Happy Humpday lovies!

The week is half way over, yay! I am super excited for this week to be over because I am moving on Saturday. I am moving to San Marcos, where I go to school, and I will be moving in with two of my very best friends and one random roommate who seems really nice. I am very excited about having my very own space to decorate and really make mine. I have been buying decorations for about a year now, and am just thrilled to finally be able to put them up! (I have been waiting too long) With all that being said I will definitely be blogging about the move as well as all the decorations, and will be looking for some reader's input too!

My mom is taking my sister and I back to school shopping, so I am also planning a "haul" post. I'm pretty excited about this, because I always love reading other blogger's hauls, and seeing what they got and from where. I feel like I've learned about so many new stores and from haul blogs/vlogs, so I hope y'all will enjoy mine as much as I enjoy other people's.

So that's what we have to look forward to on Pearls on a Texas Girl! As always, thank y'all for reading and have a great rest of your week!

Love,
Christine

Friday Fave/Not Fave

Happy Friday lovies!

It's that time of week again! My Friday fave and not fave!

FAVE: This week I decided to stop by pay less to see if they had any cute summer wedges. Even though summer is almost over, I just really felt like I did not have enough wedges. I have one pair of white wedges, featured here, and one pair of black closed toe wedges that I feel are more wintery than summery. I feel like pay less is really hit or miss, and you never know if you'll find anything good or not. This time I lucked out, I found these cuties for $12.99! Pay less is having they're back to school sale, and they actually have almost everything marked down to unbeatable prices. Unfortunately you just never know what you might find in your size, but I do recommend checking it out!

{Here they are}

NOT FAVE: My not fave this week is the stresses of moving! I am moving next Saturday into my very first big girl apartment! While I am so excited to move and be on my own, I am also stressed beyond belief. I feel like I still have so much packing and cleaning to do, and then I'll have so much unpacking and cleaning to do. I think I just need like 28 hour days instead of 24 hour days. I could get more done then, right?

I hope y'all have a great weekend! Have fun and be safe!

Kendra Scott

Good Morning lovies!

I hope you are all having a wonderful week so far, it's almost Friday! I don't know about you guys, but I am obsessed with Kendra Scott jewelry! She is based out of Austin, which makes her like ten times cooler to me. Buy local, right? ;)

I have been lusting over her earrings for so long, but just hadn't wanted to pay the $50-$60 to get a pair, but then last week I finally decided that I really needed a pair and that I would be very glad I spent the money. And I have been, even though I haven't had a chance to wear them yet.

I decided to get the Elle earrings, because I feel like the Danielle's are a little too big for my head for everyday wear, and I feel like I would get a lot more use out of the  smaller Elles. I went with the bright yellow, and I plan on wearing them for game day and tailgating. My school colors are maroon and gold, so I'm planning on using them as a pop of gold. Hopefully it turns out as good as the idea I have in my head!

I know I'm probably like the last college girl in Texas to get a pair, but I did finally! I love them, so I thought I'd share. Let me know what Kendra Scott jewels y'all have in the comment section below! I'd love to hear from you!

Outfit of the day: Summer Concert

shirt: TJ Maxx, shorts: banana republic outlet (old)

necklace: local boutique, watch: fossil

shoes: steve madden (old)

My fave look for a hot summer concert is a flowy top, shorts, sandals, wedges, or boots. What are y'alls go to summer concert looks? Let me know!

As promised, another doggy cameo! This is my little girl, Bentley "Bebe" Mae Henson, I  love her to pieces she is such a hoot. Anyone that knows me knows that I have an obsession with my dogs, and there is still one more that needs to make her little debut on Pearls on a Texas Girl

Thanks for reading! Have a great week!

A very late Friday Fave/Not Fave

Hello again lovies!

I hope you're all having a great Monday! I am, because I have the day off. The main reason I am able to blog today. I hope y'all had fun weekends. This weekend was homecoming in my hometown, so we have a concert and dance on Friday and Saturday nights. On Friday we had Aaron Watson and Saturday was Roger Creager. I was only able to see Aaron Watson, and it was a blast! I'm going to do a separate blog about that, so stay tuned!

Today, though, I am doing my Friday Fave/Not Fave. Very late, I know, but better late than never! This week my FAVE is this little purse/clutch that I found on clearance at TJ Maxx (go figure) for $10! How can any girl ever pass up a purse marked down to $10?? I think it's next to impossible. I think it's pretty cute, and a little dressier than a lot of my other cross body/satchel type purses. The strap also detaches which is nice, because I can use it as a clutch and I am lacking in the clutch department! I also loved it, because I think it's really reminiscent of Valentino's clutches and purse with the studs. Since a Valentino is extremely out of my little college girl budget I'll take a nice $10 dupe any day! ;)

{Excuse the twisted stap}

My NOT FAVE this week is cheap purses that break! Don't you hate it when you find a cheap one and you're thinking it'll be good for going out or whatever, but then it breaks?! I bought a hot pink one from Sam Moon a while back and I think I got like two uses out of it before it broke beyond repair. I knew it was cheap, but I didn't think it was quite that cheap...lesson learned.

Product Review: John Frieda go blonder spray

Sooo it's been quite a while since I last posted (oops). I've just been super busy with work, and a couple weekend trips that I'll hopefully get around to blogging about this weekend or next week.

But for now I'm doing my first product review for all my blonde readers, yay! A good friend of mine told me about this spray, I was telling her how good her hair looked and how it looked like she'd just gotten it done. She said it had been three weeks since she last got her hair highlighted, I was mind blown! She told me that she had just been spraying, John Frieda go blonder, on her hair and it got rid of her roots.

I decided to go ahead and get it and see how it worked on my hair. So far I have been very pleased with it, I think it definitely has lightened my hair and helped to hide my roots. I spray it on my damp hair after I shower before I blow dry, straighten, or spend time in the sun. Needless to say I use it pretty much every night, because I'm always using some form of heat on my hair (aren't we all?). I was really nervous when I first used it, because it has peroxide in it and I've heard of peroxide doing bad things to your hair. Luckily I haven't had any crazy problems with it. My only issue is that I wish the bottle was bigger, and I wish the sprayer was different. I feel like it's hard to spray it evenly on my hair because it's like a pump sprayer, but when I think I've done a really bad job spraying I just brush through my hair a little.

The bottle says that it can lighten highlights if you only spray it on sections, or your whole head if you spray your whole head. I don't know how this would work because I only spray it on my roots, because that's all I feel like I need to lighten.

Overall I feel like this product has done what it says it will, and has done a really good job of it. I thought it was also pretty reasonably priced too, I think it was about $8. Not too bad for a hair product, but like I said I do wish I was getting more product for my $8. So if you're a blondie and you hate roots, I definitely suggest buying this!

Friday Fave/Not Fave

Hello lovies!

I'm certain you are all as excited about the face that it's Friday as I am! I am extra excited, because today my mom and I are leaving for Kerrville to go to our family reunion. It's always so much, and I love getting to see family members that I haven't seen since the last reunion. I won't have any service where we're going, so there won't be any blogging for me until we get back home on Sunday. But I'm thinking it's going to be pretty nice taking a break from the real world, it always is.

This week my FAVE is a new nail polish that I picked up. It's Essie "Bikini So Teeny", and it is the most perfect light blue shade ever! It is absolutely perfect for summer and I definitely recommend you running out and getting it before the summer is over!

Side note: I got an ulta e-mail saying that you can buy $15 worth of nail products and get either one or two free gifts! I'm not sure how long this lasts though, I didn't read the e-mail close enough, whoops!

My NOT FAVE this week is the fact that I haven't worked out in the longest time. Before summer started and in the beginning of summer I had gotten in a really good habit of going and running, but then when I got busier with work and life in general that went completely out the window. I'm hoping that when I get back from the reunion I can get back into the working out habit (we'll see how much will power I actually have).

Thanks for reading, and I hope y'all have a great weekend!

Christine

OOTD: Wedding Edition

Happy humpday, lovies!
So as you know I attended a wedding this past saturday. It was a total blast, and so fun to see such a sweet couple finally tie the knot. I will go ahead and say that I made a huge blog mistake and didn't wind up with a pic with the bride or many pics at all for that matter. I do have a good excuse though, and that is that I was too busy dancing and socializing. Good one, huh? So here is what I wore and the few pics I did manage to get.

My blogging bestie! Follow her at The French To My Toast

One of my very best friends from high school, I loved getting to hangout with her! She is just so fun!
Dress: TJ Maxx, Shoes: old, DSW, Jewlery: fossil, stella and dot, trendy happens

Like I said, not very many pics. I was seriously so bummed I didn't get one with the bride, because she looked absolutely stunning!! I did have so much fun though, and I am so glad I was able to share that special day with them and I wish them many many years of happiness, and lots of kids! ;)

Maxi Monday

Well I hope everyone's monday wasn't too terrible. I have an outfit of the day from a couple days ago, but I wanted to post it today just so I could name this "maxi monday". It's the little things, right?

Maxi dresses have quickly become one of my obsessions this summer, but I have been having a really hard time finding ones that I like that fit me good. I finally found this one at TJ Maxx at the beginning of the summer, and I love wearing it. It is so comfortable and so easy to just throw on, and dress up or down! And I got it for a really good deal, which is just an added bonus!

Dress: calvin klein, tj maxx; jewelery: forever 21, stell and dot, fossil; jacket: old navy; shoes: (can't really see them) steve madden (old)

I decided to pair the jean jacket (not sure why the pic won't lighten) with this dress because jean and black are one of my favorite combinations. And I just really love jean jackets, I think they're an easy and cute way to add a little warmth when needed.

Outfit of the Day

Happy Saturday lovies!
I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday! I wore this a couple of days ago, but hadn't gotten around to posting it yet. I have been obsessed with these scallop shorts that I found at TJ Maxx for like $12. I love anything scalloped, and anything at that price! I have most definitely gotten my money's worth from these little shorts!

Love my Jacks!
Awkward face shot, we were trying to get the ear rings (fail)
Shorts: TJ Maxx find, Top: took it from my sister, Jewelery: fossil, stella and dot, kate spade, pandora, and james avery, Shoes: jack rogers

That's my little doggy, Luke, in the last pic. We went out front to take the pics and he ran right out with us, so I decided that was a sign that he needed to make a cameo! Stay tuned to see which doggy gets the next cameo, and stay tuned for an outfit post from the wedding today, yay!

Friday Fave/Not Fave

TGIF!!
Yay! It's finally Friday and I have a day off, whoo! This weekend is super exciting, because I am going to a wedding tomorrow! One of my best friend's older sister is marrying her high school sweetheart. They are seriously so cute and I am so excited to attend their wedding, I know it will be so sweet and so fun! I will also get to see my best little blogging buddy, Clarissa, from The French To My Toast. If y'all aren't following her you need to be!

So let it be no surprise that my FAVE this week is weddings! Yay! Anyone that knows me knows that I love weddings, like saying that I have an obsession could be considered an understatement. I really just love everything about them, the tradition, the uniting of two families, the love, the party, the religious aspect. I don't think there's anything I don't love about a wedding. So I decided to make a little collage of what my future wedding might look like, 5 years from now ;)

My NOT FAVE is rude kids! It's bad enough when adults are rude, but it is even worse when their kids start picking up on their rudeness. Unfortunately I run into this all too often at work. It just makes me all the more determined to raise my future kids the right way, and to make sure I am always leading by example.

Hope y'all have a great weekend, thanks for reading!

New favorite Etsy shop!

Hello! I hope you're all having a great Monday (if that's possible). I actually got out of work two hours early today, yay!!

So I wanted to tell you about one of my new favorite Etsy shops! I'm sure you are all aware of the cloth hair tie trend, I know I am! I am completely obsessed with them, but not really obsessed with the price of the name brand Emi Jay hair bands. They're like $2 per hair tie, they come in packages of about three for $6, so it seemed like I wasn't spending that much but when I took a minute to think about how much I was paying per band I realized it was absurd! Naturally I went to Etsy to try and find a more budget friendly solution. The first time I ordered some I got ten hair ties for $10, which I felt pretty good about. Still a little pricey, but I really get my money's worth from these things. This time, however, I found a new Etsy shop called, Little Blooms Handmade, that offered fifteen bands for $10....SCORE! I was so excited! She said that you didn't get to pick your colors, but I told her that my school colors were maroon and gold and she included some maroon and gold hair ties!! Here's some pics of the hair ties, and the cute little bag they came in.

Presentation is everything, right?
Soooo many hair ties! Yay!
Oh, and I forgot to mention that they were sent in a very timely manner. Hope y'all had a good Monday and a good rest of your week!
